Cold rolled stamping and forming steels

Non-alloy cold-rolled steels less than 3 mm thick, intended for forming by bending or stamping, suitable for surface coatings (phosphating, painting, electrolytic coatings, immersion galvanising).

Materials used in applications requiring qualities of strength, rigidity, ductility and improved surface aspects for the treatments described above. Areas of application are: automotive, metal furniture, household appliances, heating and ventilation, pipes and profiles, etc.

High-strenght cold-rolled steels for cold forming

UNI-EN 10268

High-strength steels with a guaranteed minimum yield strength limit, which offer excellent aptitudes for welding and cold forming. Within this range of steels, there are different grades depending on the end use, identified by the number that identifies the guaranteed minimum yield strength.

The high mechanical characteristics and good moulding performance make it possible to realise economical solutions for numerous parts or components that require reductions in weight, thickness and bulk, while leaving the strength of the parts or components unaltered. Some examples of applications may be: road trailers, buckets, large capacity trucks, cranes, agricultural equipment, beams, welded tubes, profiles in general for scaffolding or shelving, containers, runners, street lamps.

The regularity of the springback makes these steels suitable for all automated series production and also facilitates assembly.
